A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an easily diagnosable condition in which a proliferation of bacteria in the bladder or kidneys causes a variety of symptoms ranging from hematuria (blood in the urine) to pelvic pain, pain when urinating and sometimes a fever and/or chills. Oral antibiotic medications are the first line of treatment, along with drinking plenty of water to help flush your system of germs. When the infection is in the upper part of the urinary tract – as in the kidneys – IV antibiotics may be required. The sooner you get diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, the quicker you can get relief from it – so why wait? Dr. Wallen can help you start feeling better quickly, so call our office if you have the following symptoms at 813.278.8850.
