Urinary incontinence, or loss of bladder control to one degree or another, is a quite common urologic issue for which there are many possible causes and treatments. Unfortunately, many men and women are never properly diagnosed because they are too embarrassed to mention their difficulty to their primary care doctor – much less see a specialist about it. It doesn’t have to be this way! In fact, the most common treatments for urinary incontinence are completely non-invasive, including 1) medications and 2) behavior therapy/lifestyle changes.

Different types of urinary incontinence can result from different medical issues. No matter what causes your difficulty, chances are it can be quickly assessed, addressed, and arrested.

Possible Causes

  • Constipation
  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Menopause
  • BPH (enlarged prostate)
  • Urinary stones
  • Neurologic problems
