Dr. Wallen specializes in multiple types of bladder surgery and has advanced training in the latest techniques to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This type of surgery is performed to address either urinary incontinence or bladder cancer. Below are a few examples of bladder surgeries in which he excels:

  • Artificial urinary sphincter creation – a three-part process in which a special device is introduced to reduce the incidence of urinary leakage
  • Cystectomy - for early stage bladder cancer
  • Bladder stone removal
  • Bladder restoration – following an injury to or removal of the bladder
  • Retropubic suspension – a procedure in which the bladder and urethra are pulled back into place
  • Transurethral resection – to address bladder cancer
  • Urethral sling procedure – a brief operation in which surgical mesh is used to create a sling that pulls a woman’s urethra into place, lessening the incidence of urinary leakage
